301. Marion BLESSING was born on 23 Nov 1866 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pa.. He died on 20 Feb 1941 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pa.. He has descendant number 1-9-5-13-1. Marion in front of his Restaurant and Gas Station

Marion was the only child of William and Susan Blessing. He lived his early life at 422 Reily Street (a home origionally owned by his uncle Christian F. Blessing and later his uncle John M. Blessing) in uptown Harrisburg, Pa. with his parents. He married Ida P. Knight, born Oct 22, 1869 a neighbor girl, whose parents were deseased. Her sister
Cedelia Hutchinson was Ida's guardian.

In his early adulthood, Marion operated a cigar store in Harrisburg. Later he became a brakeman and at the time of his father's death, a motorman, for Harrisburg Traction Company. In the early 1900's he built a home for his mother at 11th & Maclay St., Harrisburg, Pa.. He owned and operated a restaurant and gasoline station adjacent to his mothers new house. He later built a home for himself and Ida on the other side of the gasoline station where he lived until his death. His wife, Ida, was 96 years of age when she died.

Of the seven children of Marion and Ida, all lived to adulthood except for Norman, who drowned in the Susquehanna River when he was ten years old.

He was married to Ida P. KNIGHT on 20 Sep 1888 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pa.. Marion BLESSING and Ida P. KNIGHT had the following children:

child493 iv. Norman Edgar BLESSING was born on 24 Mar 1894 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pa.. He died on 17 Jul 1904 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pa.. He has descendant number 1-9-5-13-1-4. Norman drowned in the Susquehanna River.
