305. Sophia Agnes BLESSING was born on 17 May 1851 in Tiskilwa, Illinois. She died on 26 May 1927 in Wabash Presybterian Cemetery, Linn, Illinois. She has descendant number 1-9-7-2-4. She was buried in Eureka Cemetery, Worland, Mosouri. Sophia's obit from Pleasanton Herald, Pleasanton, Kansas June 3, 1927:

Mrs. L. S. Miller passed away in Worland, Mo. May 26, 1927 at 1:34 am. Sophia Agnes Blessing was born in Tiskilwa, Il. May 17, 1851. She was married to Lawrence Simmons Miller, who survives her. To this union ten children were born, all of whom survive except the first born, Edwin Amos, who died at age 25 in Eureka Dist. Ks., Survivors
are: Charles H., of Pleasanton; William, of Mystic, Colorado; Anna Baldwin, of Pleasanton; Ben, of Peoria, Arizona; Maud Stevens, of Hollie Hill, Florida; Nellie Arbogast of Foster, Mo.; and Jessie, of Worland, Mo.

A few years after their marriage the couple moved to a farm near Shenandoah, Iowa where they lived for six years. In 1883 they moved to Kansas to a farm in Eureka District, six miles northeast of Pleasanton and lived there for 20 years. In 1903 the Millers moved to Worland, Mo., where they entered the mercantile business. The deceased united with the Christian church in 1895. Funeral services were held in Worland, Mo. at the Baptist church Saturday afternoon at 2 PM, conducted by Elder Hays. The remains were taken

"OLD CITIZEN DEAD"
It was a shock to the people of Pleasanton, Kansas and Worland, Mo. when it was learned that Lawrence Miller, worthy citizen of East Potosi township and Worland, Mo., had passed away at the home of his son, Milo, on Mr. Miller's farm on the state line (between Missouri and Kansas) on Thursday October 31st. He took sick about 2 months ago and was a great sufferer to the end. A few days before he had a public sale at his old home at Worland and planned to spend the winter with a daughter in Florida.
Mr. Miller had joined the Christian church at a revival in Eureka school house in the Fall of 1898. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Worland, Mo. Sunday at 2:30, conducted by Elder Hays. He was buried in Eureka cemetery by the side of his faithful lifes companion and eldest child, Edwin who died in 1896. Thus ends the life of a man who since 1883 lived an active life on his farm in Eureka district for 25 years. He went to Worland, Mo. about 1908 and with less than $100 opened a store there. He was elected Mayor and served as a councilman and member of the Board of Education
in Worland, Mo.

Lawrence Simmons Miller was born in Pennsylvania, May 29, 1850 and died Oct. 31, 1929 at the age of 79 years 5 months and 1 day. At age two he moved with his family to Tiskilwa, Illinois and was married to Sophia Blessing on Jan. 1, 1872. (other records say Dec.29, 1871 for their marriage date) To this union were born ten children; Edwin, who died 1896; Charles H.; Milo J. and Anna Baldwin of Pleasanton, Kansas; Minnie Jacquas of Santa Anna, Calif.; Benjamin F. of Peoria, Arizona; William H. of Mystic, Colorado; Maude Stephens of Holly Hill, Florida; Nellie Arbogast of Foster, Missouri and Jesse L. of Worland, Mo. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. About 1878 Mr. Miller and his family moved from Illinois to a farm at Shenandoah, Iowa where they lived till 1883 when they moved to Kansas, about 4 miles east of Pleasanton, Ks. In 1908 he moved to Worland and followed the mercantile business until he retired about four years ago.
