Irene Albert Hardman (1-9-7-5-1-9-2) wrote the following on April 12, 1986 about her father James Garfield Albert:

"My father, Jim Albert, learned railroading as an apprentice telegrapher at age 14. Before he was 20 he used this skill to find better and better jobs, moving often. By 1923 he located to Detroit, Michigan and worked as telegrapher and dispatcher from then until he
retired in 1951 from D T & I Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad. He and my mother moved back to Pennsylvania and lived there until his death at Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
My father liked to travel and my earliest memories include not just weekly drives of exploration into southern Michigan and Ohio, but motor trips into Canada, the western
and southern states of the U. S., always returning to Detroit by way of Pennsylvania where both by father's and mother's relatives lived."

He was married to Mary Idabel SHADEL on 9 Sep 1913 in Pennsylvania. James Garfield ALBERT and Mary Idabel SHADEL had the following children:
