129. Michael B. BLESSING was born on 4 Sep 1818 in Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pa.. He died on 11 Mar 1909 in Lisbon, Linn Co. Iowa. He has descendant number 1-9-4-1. He was a farmer/teamster. He was buried in Lisbon, Linn Co. Iowa. Sponsor at baptism was Sarah Waltz.

Michael B. Blessing was married twice. His first wife Mary Ann Wisore has been listed with various spellings, ie. Wiser, Wissour and Wisor. Wisore appears to be more accurate.

Michael's Obit reads:
Survived by brothers, John and Henry, sister Mary, 35 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Came to Iowa in 1849 with wife and four small children but the United Brethern Commemorative booklet has him as a charter member in 1848. A small advanced group of families came to Iowa in 1847 to get the settlement started. The incident of "The Belle of the West" boat catching on fire and sinking occurred in 1850. So it appears that Michael B. Blessing was not on the boat when it sank.

Michael's house in Lisbon, Iowa was visited April 24, 1985 by Larry Kynett 1-9-4-8-10-2. He tells how he and his sister Margaret toured the countryside south of Lisbon. " About 1 1/4 miles out of town my sister indentified the old home of Michael Blessing. It is an ancient, old style, two story brich house, set far, far, back from the road. It would be my guess that Michael built this home. There is no doubt but that it is over 100 years of age."

He was married to Mary Ann WISORE on 15 Oct 1840 in Salem Evn Ch Lebanon Pa.. Mary Ann WISORE was born on 11 Nov 1819. She died on 27 Dec 1855. Michael B. BLESSING and Mary Ann WISORE had the following children:

He was married to Elizabeth MOORE on 26 Jul 1857. Elizabeth MOORE was born about 1835. She died about 1924. Michael B. BLESSING and Elizabeth MOORE had the following children:
